In the spring of 2008 Jusmedico was contracted by the University of Amsterdam (The Institute for Information Law (IViR) / Faculteit Der Rechtsgeleerd-heid), Holland, to produce a comprehensive memorandum on the implementation of the pharmaceutical advertising rules as per Directive 2001/83/EC in Denmark.

The purpose of the assignment, which Jusmedico was honoured to accept, was for the University of Amsterdam to produce a report to the Dutch Ministry of Health describing the national rules on pharmaceutical advertising in Denmark, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. The University requested a description of the national rules applicable prior to the directive being implemented, the legal history behind such rules, and the impact of the directive.
